I was passing the church recently and took the opportunity to take a closer look at the memorial. There is one small area where a few names are visible. These names are not included on the original list printed in the church's parish magazine. I can read: H Ross J Roo?? Alan Tatham So there were additions.

No fewer than seven men on this memorial were former pupils of Salford Municipal Secondary School for Boys, which when they attended it was housed within the Royal Technical Institute building on the Crescent. (The school subsequently moved to Leaf Square in 1914 and then to Claremont in 1956, opposite Buile Hill Park. The city council changed the school's name in 1932 to Salford Grammar School and abolished it in 1973.)
All seven are listed on the Old Salfordians' war memorial plaque, which since 2010 has been in the Peel Building of the University of Salford. the building in which the 74 men on the memorial had studied as schoolboys. The seven are
Harold Barrett Stanley Dyer Harold Fielding Alfred Lowe Ewart Pickwick Alfred Quick Cyril Willett.
Because the school was founded only ten years before war broke out, all its former pupils were still young, and the vast majority were still unmarried. Stanley Dyer was one of very few who had got as far in his life as marrying. However, I don't believe Stanley & Lizzie had started a family.

The Salford Library have a book of photographs from the school showing the pupils in various years from 1905 upto the 1920s, I know some of the lads on the memorial are in the pictures. I shall endeavour to get some of the pictures photographed over the coming weeks.
