I Located this one 2 years ago in 2008, and took photos of it after finding it under the Stage at Buile Hill High School, it was in a bad condition, and badly needed repairing and cleaning. I was told at the time, that plans for it were unknown at the time, but the school was ready for demolition, indeed weeks after taking the photos the School was Demolished. The Old Salfodians, located it and it is being rededicated next weekend Click Here for more InformationAttachments:

This is an invitation to an additional Remembrance Sunday ceremony being held on the Crescent on 14th November. Before the Mayor goes to the traditional 11am ceremony at the Cenotaph in Fire Station Square he will be unveiling and rededicating the refurbished Memorial Plaque of the Old Salfordians’ Association in the Peel Building of the University of Salford across the road. This is the original 1896 Royal Technical Institute Building.
The event is the culmination of two years work by the Association. The Plaque remembers the 74 Old Boys of Salford Secondary School for Boys who died in WW1. The school was renamed Salford Grammar School in 1932. The Plaque originally hung in the school’s Leaf Square building and moved with the school to Claremont in 1956. It remained in that building when it became Buile Hill High School in 1973, latterly stored unceremoniously under the stage, and the Association rescued it before the building was demolished in 2008. The University has kindly and generously provided a new home for it, in the very building the 74 men studied as schoolboys and students. The 74 names on the Plaque are listed on the Old Salfordians’ Association website. A link to a press release has just been put on the SWARM website, and should be above or below this message.
It is not a private ceremony – everyone is welcome. We’ll start assembling at 9.30am for the ceremony at 10am. There will be a small poster display telling something of the lives and deaths of the men.
The Crescent is closed to traffic for the city’s 11am service, but we expect it to be still open when we arrive. The University, which is of course our host on the day, has asked us to park in the Irwell Place car park, on the south side of the Crescent.
