"There is a third stained glass window, in the north aisle towards its east end. It is a memorial to the fourteen members of the 292 (Eccles) and the 1099 (Walkden) Air Training Corps Squadrons who were killed in the Second World War whilst serving in the Fleet Air Arm or the Royal Air Force. By any standards, fourteen must be considered a large proportion of the cadets in those two units and the memorial gives rise to just as much sorrow as does the other war memorial in the south porch."
This statement found on the church's website may not be true. Whilst the majority were killed whilst serving in the Fleet Air Arm or the Royal Air Force, it does not seem true for all.
