:poppy: 337 names from the WWII panels in progress. :poppy: :poppy: They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old. :poppy: :poppy: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. :poppy: :poppy: At the going down of the sun, and in the morning. :poppy: :poppy: WE WILL REMEMBER THEM :poppy:

Researching the men listed, I've come across a problem with the very first name. L. Abrahams. I can find only one death in World War II for any L. Abrahams, and he is an Australian Pilot Officer with the Royal Australian Air Force. He also appears to be remembered on the RFC / RAF Memorial in the Lancastrian Hall in Swinton, on which the rank of P/O (Pilot Officer) is also listed. It this the man, and if so why was he listed on the Swinton War Memorial?

There is a public members tree on Ancestry that I have found using "Reginald Abrahams" in the main box and "Florence Caroline" in the spouse box.
Reginald is shown as being born in NSW Florence Caroline Abrahams nee Prince, no place of birth shown - Mother: Mary Ann Hall, Father: Henry Prince.
Now need to find where Florence was from.

Keep coming back to this, it is a puzzle. A liitle more info: Studio portrait of 413503 Pilot Officer (PO) Leo Reginald Abrahams, 459 Squadron RAAF. PO Abrahams, a wireless mechanic of Randwick, NSW, enlisted on 10 October 1941. He was lost whilst on operations over Cyprus on 14 July 1944. Attachments:

This letter from his mother is hearbreaking to read. She will not believe her son is dead until further proof is sent, she later goes on to say that she has another son who is a POW in Malaya. Attachments:
