S Gleave, Avro Test Pilot. I presume to be PB579/Sid Gleave.
11 September 1944 Lancaster III PB579 Mr S Gleave (Production Test Pilot) and Mr H Barnes, Avro, Woodford. One of every 10th aircraft that was checked to its terminal velocity dive speed of 375mph to verify control effectiveness and ease of recovery. During the dive the fuel jettison pipes tore off, hit the tailplane and stripped the elevator skin. The aircraft dived vertically into the ground at Alderley Edge, three miles south of Woodford. This was the only fatal accident involving a Lancaster out of the 3,958 tested at Woodford. 2 killed. Cat 5.

B Grey, M of I.
I could be totally wrong with this. I am assuming that M of I is Ministry of Information and that the Ministry would employ War Correspondents. If so I think this could be B Grey:

Strange, I wandered all around Prestbury Churchyard trying to spot any graves which could have been my ancestors, and never noticed any CWGC ones last year. I go down that neck of the woods periodically so next time I'm there, I'll have another look and try to get some photos. It's a lovely church, and a very pretty village.
