Hi everyone!
I am the granddaughter of a very young man who lost his life just a few short months before the end of WWI. My father was only 5 years old at that time.
My grandfather was a Corporal with the Lancashire Fusiliers and I was surprised to find his name and his brother's listed on the War Memorial at St Thomas Church.
All I have of my grandfather is pictures, medals, and commemoratives from the government. I wish I could have known the man!
I, too, think it is very important to never forget what these men sacrificed and the impact that war has on those that remain also.
My grandmother decided to join her brothers and sisters in Canada and she and my dad moved to Princeton, BC in 1921.
So, I was born on the "other side of the pond" and have never been to England.

Hi Ebev, a SWARM welcome from me too. You could add your grandfather to the SWARM roll of honour and include his photo as a tribute to him :poppy:
