In grateful remembrance of the Salford brave, who have sacrificed their lives in the service of Queen and Country in recent conflicts. :poppy: We will remember them :poppy: Fusilier Simon Annis, 2nd Bn., Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, died 16th August 2009. Served in Afghanistan. Lance Corporal Ivano Violino, 36 Engineer Regiment, died 17th September 2007 aged 29. Served in Afghanistan. Company Sergeant Major Darren Leigh, M.C., Queen's Lancashire Regiment, died in 2004 aged 37. Served in Iraq, during which service he earned the Military Cross.

These are the recent ones I am aware of, though if there are other Salford men, or women, that you know of please add them to this thread. I know there was a soldier from Little Hulton who was killed in the First Gulf War, but haven't been successful in tracing any information, but hope someday to ensure his sacrifice is remembered here also.
