Its the Irlam and Cadishead WW1 and WW2 Roll of honours The Royal Arms was previousley the Irlam and Cadishead RBL, its says on the UKNIWM, that there were 137 men who served and returned, so not sure if its the same one, although the 72, could be those who lost their lives

Hi, as Bomber says, the Royal Arms is now a private pub/club but it was the Royal British Legion. The owner of the pub has upheld the traditions of the RBL and looks after the few remaining WW2 veterans. The Remembrance Day parade leaves from here every year and then back to the pub afterwards. There are no memorials in the pub/club anymore (it was the Irlam and Cadishead Roll of Honour with 137 casualties - same as war memorial - I don't know where the reference to 72 came from though). These were moved to St Mary's Church, Penry Avenue, Cadishead for safe keeping when the BL sold the club (I posted photos of these a couple of weeks ago).
We have no record of street memorials in Irlam or Cadishead.
Hope this helps
Cheers Pete ;D

Thanks Pete
That all makes sense and I remember the thread that you posted regarding St Mary's.
Sorry to say that this now means that the pub visit (to get pictures only) has been cancelled.

Garry, sorry to spoil your visit. You could always go to the Royal Arms, sample the beverage and then cross the road and go to church!
Cheers Pete ;D ;D
