Wendy, Steve.
I have been informed that there may be 4 MM winners on this memorial so you may find 2 Medal cards for some of them. I say "may" because I have not had a chance to check yet.
Regards,
Garry

I could be wrong, but based on the London and North Western Railway Company's Roll of Honour book, although a number of men of the company from Patricroft earned the Military Medal, none of them are among the men listed as having been killed. The second main part of the book lists recipients of military awards, and those killed are recorded as such. Also included in the book are men from Eccles and from Ordsall Lane. I have identified a total of 48 killed from the book for Patricroft, Eccles and Ordsall Lane, though not researched the men further yet.

Hope this will be of help, and save over-duplicating work. Some men have info copied from research where they've appeared on another memorial. Attachments:

Thanks guys. I can try to cross reference some of these against the London and North Western Railway Company roll of honour, to narrow down some of them. Failing that, I'll check the newspapers at Salford Local History Library. With a bit of luck there may be a useful entry saying 'worked for the L&NWR' in the paper.
