It has been brought to my attention earlier today that there has been some vandalism to the CWGC Memorial Headstone of Private (F/14499553) A. Davis, Royal Army Service Corps, who died 28 March 1945 aged 19 years. This is located in the churchyard of St. John's Church, Pendlebury. The person who very kindly let me know about this has also contacted the CWGC and who will be arranging for the stone to be examined and cleaned as soon as they are able.

I am pleased to report that the CWGC have been and cleaned the headstone, you wouldn't know there had been any vandalism caused. Well done to the CWGC.
