OK, this is something a bit different. If you could hold a fantasy dinner party (maximum of 15 guests plus yourself as host) who would you invite. There are rules though. 1. Your guests can be anyone, real or fictional, from any time period, place and culture. 2. You can ignore real-life language barriers (i.e. pretend they would all be able to converse in English).

that's easy...15 of my closest relatives who are sadly no longer with us...then I can quiz them about all the brick walls

For instance, just two of my choices would be: 1. Queen Elizabeth I - just to see if any of the portrayals of her on TV / in film are anything like accurate. 2. Donald Brown MacCulloch - Lochaber historian and author because I'd love to hear his views on how the district has changed over the years.

I had this as part of a job interview, we each had to pick one person. Everyone picked people like David Beckham, Jay-Z et al.
I chose Anne Frank, I explained that people need to be reminded that even when they think their chips are down and the world is against them that there are people out there who truly know horror and deprivation. We need humility in our lives to make us grateful for what we have.
I shall have to have a ponder over this once since I'm allowed more than 1 person.

Another of my choices would be my great grandfather, Thomas James Binstead, simply because I grew hearing about him from my Dad, but Tom died long before I was born and he sounds like a fascinating man. Plus, I'd grill him about where he and his Mum were until he was 14!!!!!

Never met a man who knows more about one particular subject than him.
