Hi, I am researching my family tree and came across my grandfather listed in the post "1920 civic reception - Gallantry medal winners." His name was Andrew Murphy, no.B3013 Rifle brigade. He was awarded the MM and I see that there are cards and certificates that have not been collected, I would love to be able to obtain these or copies as I didn't know about their existence, how would I go about this? I have also been trying to find out about another relative, all I have is a copy of a newspaper clipping there is no date or newspaper details. It tells of his escape from a camp behind German lines and his return home. His name is given as - Private J. Hallam, of the 1st 8th Lancashire Fusiliers, his address was 161 Hodge Lane Salford. It states he had served in the Dardenelles & Egypt so I am assuming it must have been about 1916-17. Any help would be gratefully received. My apologies for such a long drawn out post. Thanks.
