Currently researching local town memorial near Preston, namely Fl. Sgt. Stanley GREEN, mid-upper gunner, Stirling OJ-N, 149 Squadron, all crew killed on take-off from Lakenheath air base, Suffolk, en-route Frankfurt. Front gunner Sgt. 1129659 William Green, no relatives listed on CWGC, buried Irlam (St. John the Baptist) Churchyard Extension, Q grave 13. Have seen photograph of GREEN's grave on this site but it is protected by water-mark (understandable). Any possibility of obtaining one without it? Also, has anyone done any research on GREEN and his family to write up an obituary? We are endeavouring to do obituaries for each crew member. So far have made partial success in Australia and Canada where some crews lived, others ongoing throughout UK. There are no commercial aspects in the research. Intention being to place all information in local library/archive for future users to benefit. Many thanks. Thanks for that Ben, much appreciated.
It doesn't say on the photo which school. Do you possibly know it, or any other information on Sergeant Green or where best to find it? Any family etc?
