Recently found his family plot at St Catherines, Barton, Bourought of Salford. Sgt John Thomas Williams. An hours worth of research found he was RAFVR 70 Squardron. Headstones does state "interred at Tobruk". I couldnt make out the date of death. Turns out Aged 24, Wirelesss Op/ Air Gunner. Death 4 Dec 1942. Panel I H3 , Tobruk CWGC. The squardron was operating Wellington bombers. Time frame using Landing Ground 140. The CWG website supplies graves registration details. Listed next to Johns name is another aircrew member of 70sqd killed on the same day. I dont know if these 2 men were killed on ops in the same aircraft. Probably on the same sortie . Was it flak or fighter cover over a target
