Hello, I am researching my family tree and have discovered today that Fred McLachlan (my gt gt grandfather) was killed in France in 1916. He was a member of the 2nd Salford Pals, E company, 16th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. Would like any other info, records, photo of battalion etc if there are any?

Hi Moonbeam, Welcome to the forum. There is a Fred McLachlan named on the Swinton and Pendlebury ROH salfordwarmemorials.proboards.com/thread/1709/16th-lancashire-fusiliers-company-rohBut, I cannot find his death in 1916. Perhaps I am missing something obvious? I can find a Frederick McLachlan in the 1911 census; born 1887, wife is Elizabeth Alice, children Ethel and Elise, 12 Alice St, Pendleton. It looks like he died in 1954.
