Good evening. Concerning Michael Barbosa, who is honoured by the CWGC as John Shaw. After I had posted the story of the Barbosa family on the Hispanic Liverpool Project in December 2015, I was contacted by Michael Donnelly, a descendant of Irene Bell nee Barbosa. He had seen my article on the Barbosa family having done some research on his great uncles from the Salford Pals who died on the Western Front in 1916. He did not know about Michael serving under an assumed name. I told him that Shred had done all the hard work in finding out about Michael Barbosa's dual identity. Michael has gone one step further and contacted the CWGC with the information you discovered and they have now made a separate entry for 9624 Private Michael Barbosa, aged 28, The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, 4/11/1914. Tanga Memorial Cemetery. Without your very kind help this would not have been possible. On behalf of Michael Donnelly, thank you very much for your interest and valued assistance.
