Hello all,
I am a member of the War Memorial Trust - and I am sure a few of you are. They have sent me a request for help of the memorials listed below.
If any of you know about these please email me on steveh1968@hotmail.com - Many thanks
Higginshaw Gasworks, Greater Manchester WM1360: Request for condition survey and photographs WMT has no condition survey for the memorial plaque in the Swinton museum since 2010 and we would like an up-to-date condition survey and photographs to update our records and identify if any action is required.
The Co-operative Building and Shop-fitting Department plaque, Greater Manchester WM3546: Request for post grant condition survey and photographs In 2010 WMT gave a grant towards repair works to the memorial plaque located at The Co-operative Funeralcare, 143 Cross Lane, M5 4AP
Weaste, Greater Manchester WM1870: Request for condition survey and photographs WMT was contacted in 2006 with a report of concern about the condition of the memorial at the Lancaster Club, Eccles New Road, Weaste

Hi Steve, Where do your WM reference numbers come from? They do not seem to correspond with the IWM's site which uses WMA reference numbers. The IWM indicates that the Higginshaw Gas Works memorial has been missing since the gas works was demolished in the 1980s. I have never heard of a Swinton museum. The War Memorials Trust website has a full report as to the condition of the Co-operative Building and Shop-fitting memorial. Picture also available here.I only know of two memorial that were at the Lancaster Club, Weaste. One was the Greengate Memorial, the other was a scroll/picture of Arthur Aaron V.C. If there was another please let me know.
