Hi All,
My name is Mike and i am currently involved with the Manchester Regiment website and forum, looking after and collecting from various volunteers photos of war graves to those that served in the Manchester Regiment. I have only just taken over doing this project and i am sorting through the photos to see what we have and what we don't have which could be a long process as at the moment the photos are all over the place in their Flikr account and need sorting into cemeteries/memorials.
I also collect war grave photos which i have some 200,000. If any of your Salford lads are buried elsewhere, whether here in the UK or abroad i hopefully will be able to provide photos if you don't already have them. I do this on all sorts of forums, military and family history. All photos i have are given to various people for free and i never charge for them, unlike some websites that could be mentioned.
I am also in the middle of writing a book on the Congleton War Memorial missing names. The memorial lists 250 WW1 names but there are a further 250 WW1 and 30 WW2 that i have so far found that are not listed due to Cheshire Council limiting the amount of names that were to be put on there. There is also a project i am working closely with which plans to have the war memorial re-built to include all the names including the lads who have died post war in other conflicts such as Malaya and Falklands.
Kind regards
Mike
