Andrew Knowles & Sons owned Agecroft Colliery ,Clifton Hall Colliery and Foggs Colliery Darcy Lever Bolton .Alot of his workers lived in Knowles Square which is approx where McDonalds is on Bolton road.

Steve, Debs, Please be aware that some of the memorials may name men serving not died, I have had a quick look at the link Debs has provided and after some quick research suspect it is for men serving. I could be wrong though? Garry |
