Salford has unveiled a permanent tribute to the victims of the Holocaust. A new Memorial and Peace Garden was opened in Clowes Park, Higher Broughton in a ceremony attended by councillors, Jewish community representatives, and local schoolchildren. The ceremony saw the planting of six Silver Birch trees, the unveiling of a memorial plaque, as well as the laying of a series of stones inscribed with images inspired by the designs of local school pupils.
