Demolition of Old Fire Station LF memorial

Can anyone tell me if there are any plans to demolish the Lancashire Fusilier memorial which sits in the square at the front of the old Fire Station building on the Crescent.it is the one with the lion on top and the word Egypt, built in 1922?

We haven't heard any rumours with regards to this. I know that any such plans would be met with great opposition, not just from SWARM but many other groups/organisations.

May i ask why you ask?

A friend saw something about a planning application date October on Facebook,and I think got it wrong, I think it relates to the demolition of some properties in the immediate vicinity. Thanks
