Joseph Locker died from TB that was not caused by his Service, but Pension records repeatedly say the condition was aggravated by exposure.  Has anyone checked DC records to see if this was his cause of death?  I wonder if he could be an omission by CWGC?

I've just found I can pay Salford City Council £16 to carry out a grave search.  Is this worthwhile or have you already checked out the resources they hold?

From memory I am sure that I checked the local papers for a burial without success. The weekly burial lists that were printed in the local papers were pretty comprehensive (not saying that they were 100%), so may not be worth paying the £16.00 for. Also, Salford City Council will not have a record if he was buried in a local churchyard.

Tim has been able to discover that Joseph Locker is buried in Agecroft Cemetery.

Well done to Tim for not giving up on this. His persistence has paid off and the CWGC will be able to now update their records detailing where Joseph is laid to rest.



Buried in the same grave is Arthur Bunn, M.M., who served during the First World War with the Royal Field Artillery (106194). The 1918 Absent Voters shows Arthur as registered at 20 Beech Street, Broughton. His Military Medal award was announced in the London Gazette on the 14th December 1917.
