In 1919 each school child in Salford was presented with a Peace Medal to commemorate the Deceleration of Peace. Made of aluminium, 1 1/4" in diameter, the medal was suspended from a tri colour (red, white and blue) ribbon. An order of between 45,000 to 50,000 units was placed with Walker and Hall of Manchester at a cost of 2d per unit.

That the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Alderman Phillips be authorised to accept an offer and design for the supply of 45,000 to 50,000 Medals commemorating the declaration of peace for distribution amongst the day school scholars in the Borough, reporting thereon to the committee.
