Raymond,
Welcome to the forum.
From memory I think that we have discussed the Gemmells on the Salford Council forum a while back? Have you been able to check the Salford Reporter for any articles printed at the time of their deaths? If not, I will take a look when I next visit the library. John South also rings a bell. I shall get back to you on that one.
Thank you for joining us.

Raymond,
Where did you get the information for John South from? From all the information I can see he is shown as being born and living in Salford.
Name: John South Birth Place: Salford, Lancs Death Date: 1 Jul 1916 Death Location: France & Flanders Enlistment Location: Salford Rank: Private Regiment: Lancashire Fusiliers Battalion: 15th Battalion Number: 27544 Type of Casualty: Killed in action Theatre of War: Western European Theatre
Edit: My mistake, I was reading the write up on John Gemmell.
Garry

Hi Garry....If i remember most of the info on my Salford/Warrington family was found by the Salford Forum....You also played a big part in that and i thank you for it.....As you may remember i was about three weeks old in 1943 when i was taken to Scotland due to the fortunes of the Second World War.

I have just been reading through the old threads on the Salford forums and things are becoming clearer. Looks like the Fusilier Museum did some good research for you.
I am sure that my wife's family are related to John South somehow, I know that her family lived in David St, Broughton, in the early 1900s. I will ask my wife when I pick her up from work later.
