Well, just a few lines to introduce myself, as it seems the done thing on the SWARM forum. Basically, I am 52 years young, am married (and have been since 1989) to Kath . We live in Monton and the two lads moved away some years ago, so it's very peacefull at home (except when I plug a guitar in or turn the woofer on to watch a film or music prog...(Kath hates the Woofer and Football). I found the SWARM site while researhing for a song I have just written, called the Ballad of Billy Unsworth (Yet to be recorded though). I found the topic of saving (and hopefully restoring etc.,) various memorials in Salford the done thing so I have joined. Not being rich I can only offer assistance in a tangible way , and maybe with the odd song to accompany any footage SWARM may post to help with the campaign. My local is the Park Hotel in Monton, and I have let some of the lads in there know about the cause, and they seem very upset that these memorials could be in jeopardy, so lets see if I can gather enough information to assist in letting Salford folk realise what is happening. In my Army service I was with the 1st Bn The King's Regiment, where I left the Regulars in 1984 and a year later joined the TA where I finished in 2001. My last duty I suppose was the the honour of being in the Colour Party, which was front and centre at Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's 100th birthday parade on Horseguards, which was televised live across the world. Well hopefully I can help a very worthy and necessary cause. Regards. G.

Hi Graham,
I have seen the song you wrote and love it. Being a fellow guitarist it was nice to see the chords written above the words. Just need to hear the melody now, I only live round the corner from you we will have to meet up one night.
Welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the messages guys....I am open to meeting up and sharing the song, it's a bit more intricate than the chords offered, but as musicians you know that I put a little more into it, eg., 7ths here and there, the Harpbreakers are putting some subtle lead. percussion. harmonica, bass and harmonies to the song, plus I suppose. any innovative extra's from those who have the ability but overall I want to put our cause on the map........Lets Do It.!!! I have a meeting on Tue evening at the King's Arms, with the Salford Music Co-Operative to discuss my project...I will let you know how I get on.

Graham,
You always need a 7th here and there. Saw Her Standing There by The Beatles is liberally strewn with them.
Can't wait to hear it.

You Know......music is about sharing things......relaxing....letting go with a rythmn where those involved join in and enjoy........it seems that society has sort of lost the plot really.....so....let's boogie. G.
