We have been advised that there is a memorial at the Scouts' Hut (12th Swinton), Lynton Road, Swinton. I have arranged to take a picture of the memorial this coming Friday.
Watch this space.

A former Swintonian, who on being married went to live at Accrington, Flight-Sergt, Frank Woolmington, is missing after operational training from this country. Flight Sergeant Woolmington, who is the youngest son of Mr and Mrs James Woolmington, late of Raymond St, Pendlebury and now of Llandudno, served on operations in the Middle East, and after coming back to this country began to carry out fresh training. Twenty eight years of age he was a wireless operator and air gunner, and as a boy attended Cromwell Rd School, Pendlebury and Salford Technical College.
