Feb 10th, 1915 The Salford 2nd Battalion (16th Service Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers) paraded at Buile Hill Park for a route march through Eccles and Swinton. Colonel Abercrombie (in command), Lord Derby (Hon. Colonel), and Mr C. A. Montague Barlow, M.P. (Chairman of the Committee raising the battalions). The men marching into the park.
