Thomas Brassington is one of the names on this memorial. Swarm did some research and passed their findings to author B A Lightfoot who wrote this wonderful article for the Salford Advertiser. Many thanks to B A Lightfoot. Part two will follow next week.

What a brilliant result! Well done Garry and everyone else involved Thanks Pete, We could not have done it without everyone's involvement. It is a great result for everyone involved in the thread and the forum; Debs started the thread on the 3rd of October 2010 and everyone rallied to the cause quickly, Emma, Jim and I, you and Neil coming to our aid with almost instantaneous information on quite a few of the men, Simon and Mack for their important input, Graham for blagging his way into the place to take a picture, all the members and friends who filed their concerns with the planning panel, Councillor Mashiter who guided us through the red tape/protocol or the local council, B A Lightfoot for his articles and lastly the gentleman who first brought this matter to our attention. Many thanks to all that spent their valuable time and energy in making sure that these men are not forgotten. Well done to you all.
