Thank you shred for all your help. Last year I had a response from a person who named themselves NigelM, and the last contact I had with them was over 12 months ago, he?she said that they worked away a lot and apologised for late replies. I now know, through Arthur's will, that this person is a relative of mine either first or second cousin. Is there any way of tracing this person through your website only I have such a lot of unanswered questions. Thank you, Lorraine T

Now I am well on my way with my Family Tree, but am still stuck on a few things, does anyone know if there is anywhere you can go locally (In Salford prefered) where you can get help with one to one chat or in a group where everyone can help each other, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, lorraine T

I cannot find any trace of my Grandfather Arthur Turner being on any Roll of Honour in Salford, he was killed in Gallipoli in 1915 and lived previously at 16 John Street, Pendleton, he was originally from Clegg Street in Whit Lane. I thought I had read from a newspaper clipping that he would be remembered at St Thoms Church Roll of Honour (Pendleton Church), but having looked at this his name does not appear to be there, are there any lists of those men from Salford who died in the war and would this include where they would be remembered. Any help. Lorraine T

Hi Lorraine,
We are maintaining a list of names that we have found on each of the memorials. Unfortunately we have not found Arthur's name on any of the memorials that we have found to date. He may have been named on one of the many lost memorials. It is strange that the newspaper article states that his name appears on the St Thomas' Roll of Honour.
