the george evans listed in the clerks dept is the wrong man,this is george L/cpl 2118 george evans served 4yrs in the manchesters before the war and rejoined them on the outbreak,worked in the town clerks dept,educated manchester grammar,vice captain of marple rugby club,lived with his brother at the dairy on duchy st,seedley,married to ruth,parents lived at grosvenor villas,frodsham,DOWs on the hospital ship on 16-6-15,buried on mudros,aged 25,native of seedley mack This newspaper article incorrectly states that George was killed in action. SDGW shows that he died of wounds as per Mack's post.
