hello gary. there are two soldiers on the st.thomas memorial, tom+thomas,j barnfield tom barnfield is the right soldier, but 46581 thomas barnfield that i posted is the wrong man.
this is the correct info pte 28312 thomas, james barnfield 18th hussars 64 laundry st,pendleton he married miss mary, ellen pollitt in 1895 in salford, they had two children, thomas+alice, mary died in 1902 and thomas remarried in 1904 to jessie hutchinson and had two children from this marriage, jessie+mary. thomas died of TB sometime between april-june 1915,aged 37 the tom barnfield on the memorial was his son
ime sorry about the error
i think thomas could be buried in weaste cemetery,he doesnt show up on the friends of salford cemetery search in the war graves section, but there are barnfields listed in the transcribed civvie graves, but i dont have access to the info
thomas, james could be a border line case for inclusion for commemoration by the CWGC,he was very ill with TB during his service and discharged as completley unfit for further service and unfit for any kind of work in civilian life,he died shortly afterwards

Mack,
No need for apologies, I make enough errors of my own.
Hopefully Jim will pick up on this and alter any records/entries in the database.
