I was listening to Manchester Radio this morning, they where having a chat about donkeystones which brought back a few memories. I only remember them being a light brown colour but the callers recalled white, dark brown and light brown. Were there any other colours?

:DI remember getting donkey stones from the rag n bone man. Sometimes we got a goldfish in a plastic bag-it only ever lived about a day and a half. The donkey stones were white, brown and cream (yes like victory v's) The front steps were done in cream and the back steps were in white. If cream stones weren't available, brown and white was rubbed together. The wall at the back of the house was whitewashed and the front was done in "red raddle" I think that was what the paint like substance was called. Does anybody remember? All the houses in our terraced street used it. It brings back loads of memories.xxxxxxx
