You have a great site!
I am into family history. My folk come from Manchester (rather than Salford) and miraculously none died in either war. i would like to find out more about the information available for the Great War, possibly contribute in the unlikely event of me holding some useful information or idea!

Hi Adnepos,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for your kind comments.
Jump right in and contribute wherever you can. You could start by telling us a little about your folk. Like who is the gentleman shown on your avatar?

There were many reunions for many regiments for the years between the great wars. Many men would attend as sometimes this was the only place they would talk about the horrors of the war. Sadly many could not bring them self to ever speak of the war. Ben

Sadly many could not bring them self to ever speak of the war. Ben The picture is of my great grandfather, 282312 Pte Walter Samms HARTLEY who was in 2/7th then 10th Bn. He was born in Ancoats and moved to Gorton. He is the one who went off every spring, between the two wars, without any explanation to his family.
