Good morning Shred. I do thank you for finding this very upsetting diary entry. This does make John's death so very real. I am still still struggling to find the online entry you sent me for Thomas Bevan b 1887. 1911 census

I have joined the Forces War Record group, and Thomas isn't in their records either. Carolyn x

You'll find that many records area taken from sites like this one, only to be put on that site and people charged for them. Charged for what was given freely. Ben

John Bevan was killed close to Ayette (approx 15 miles south of Arras) in France. The following page (provided by forum member prospectroad) is taken from the 16th Lancashire Fusiliers war diary, showing events from the 1st April - 3rd April 1918. As John's death was assumed to be on the 3rd or shortly after I would think that he was one of the 9 missing (right hand margin).
