Charles Dewhurst was my 2nd cousin 3x removed he was born 10 December 1893 in Salford Lancashire and died 28 Apr 1917 France.His parents were Charles and Sarah Dewhurst. Dewhurst, Charles Register Number: 303 Division: Royal Marine Light Infantry: Plymouth Division Short Service When Enlisted/Date of Enlistment: 21 September 1914. He is buried in France at the Arras Memorial Faubourg d'Amiens British Cemetery, in the western part of the town of Arras.

Hi, From CWGC: Private PLY/303(S) Charles Dewhurst, 2nd Royal Marine Battalion, Royal Marine Light Infantry, Royal Naval Division. Killed in action 28/04/1917 He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial (Bay 1) There is an article in the Salford Reporter, edition 19/5/1917.
