While i was searching for something completly different, i came upon this chap and i can't seem to find anything on him regarding any service or which regiment he served with? This is the only thing i can find related to the man. 1911 census Thomas King-parks Age in 1911: 27 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1884 Relation to Head: Boarder Birth Place: Dublin, Ireland Civil Parish: Worsley Street address: 11 Bridgewater Road Walkden Marital Status: Single Occupation: Electrical Engineer (substation Attendant)

His death in the death index is recorded as PARKS, Thomas K. Very curious. Like you I can find little else.

I think that the notice was posted under an incorrect heading. From the description of the hospital and the fact that the notice states "a long illness" I would guess that he would have not been accepted for Army service, or he had been discharged due to illness.
