Hello, I was recently given a photo of a family member, and was told that the picture was taken at Victoria park in swinton. The girl in the picture was born in 1926, so I'd say the picture was taken in the 1930's
Having looked at the pictures for a while now I think that it may be the same memorial. It looks as if some of the lower tiers may have been discarded when the memorial was moved. I will see if I can find any pictures of the memorial in its original state.

Does the current memorial in Victoria Park include a WW2 plaque? There is the possibility that the WW1 memorial was replaced after WW2 for one which covered both wars. Newspapers would cover the story.
