Hi guys, I saw an old picture of my grandfather today in military uniform. After a bit of searching I found this picture on the internet www.manchester-regiment.org.uk/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment%3BEQUALS%3BMR01432&pos=2&action=zoom which suggests he was a Captain and medical officer in the 51st Lancashire Home Guard. I don't know a huge amount about him. He was born in Dublin in 1916 and studied to become a doctor at Trinity College - probably qualifying a couple of years before the war. He moved to Glasgow some time before 1951 and died there in 1961. I'm not really sure what the best way to find out more information about him is but this website seems to have a lot of people who know where the best places to look might be. Any help would be much appreciated, Adam

Not meaning to push you from one forum to another but have you asked about your grandfather on the Manchester regiments own website? linkA few of their members & moderators pop on here from time to time. Ben

Ben Thanks Ben. I had a look at the phone book records on a site and they went back to 1947 which was interesting. I will post on that other forum and see what comes up. Thanks again Adam
