Hi everyone, My name is Jane and I am a Regional Volunteer for the War Memorials Trust. I live in Up Holland, near Wigan (with my husband Nick, who is also a Regional Volunteer). I am particularly interested in the protection and conservation of war memorials. I have a particular fondness for Salford as I studied at Salford University.

Jane,
Great to have you here. Thanks for the information you have supplied on the St Catherine's memorial. I had heard mention of the bells, I did read a short piece about them but cannot quite recall what, when or where. If I recall anything I will post under the relevant thread.

Hi, Apparently 7 out of the 8 bells were sold in 1962 when the Church was remodelled. One bell was sold to St Mary Magdalene's Church in Winton.

Jane,
Thanks for the additional information, I know St Mary Magdalene's well.
We have been looking for a full list of names for the cross at Sacred Trinity, Chapel Street. This church are looking to have the cross restored and cannot find a list of names either in the local papers or their own church records. If you find anything please inform us, or Sacred Trinity directly.
Thanks,
Garry
