This is the Cyril Thompson who is also on the Old Salfordians' war memorial in the Peel Building of the University of Salford. The family home, Branwood House on Clarendon Road, was later acquired for a school, and Branwood House Preparatory School occupied it from, I believe, 1926 to 1984. I suspect Cyril was a teacher and would love to know where. In 1911 he was a student at St. Mary's RC College, Hammersmith, along with fellow Old Salfordian Francis Purcell. Francis became a teacher in Salford. He also lost his life and is on the Corporation war memorial in the old Town Hall.
