Hi Debbie
My name is Susan Timperley & my mum was your grandmas sister she was Esther, I remember both your mum & Eric when they lived in Heaton Norris with aunts Mary & uncle Jack I seem to remember the same parties as Chris there was always lots of them. I also remember going to Gran & grandads when they lived in David Street for Sunday lunch I was only 8 when the both died but have very happy memories of them & all the aunties & uncles.

Hi Michael,
I saw the report of Joseph Lister's commemoration on the local news on Sunday. This may be a complete red herring, but I just wonder if I may be related. My great grandfather's name was John Lister and he was from Salford. He was married to Clara (nee Simpson) and they had a son Albert Edward and a daughter Sarah (my grandmother). Sarah was married to my grandfather Joseph Thomas and Albert's wife's name was Emma.
As I say, this may be a complete red herring, but I just wonder if those names mean anything to you.
Coincidentally, my cousin Mark (who is also of Lister stock) is married to Kerris, whose maiden name is Macauley.
Small world indeed!

There will be a memorial bench dedicated to Sgt Joseph Lister VC and each of the other 7 Victoria Cross recipients with links to Salford on Tuesday,1 November 2022 at Swinton Cenotaph on Chorley Road. I'd be most grateful if any of his relatives could get in touch with me asap. My contact number is 0793-2488390. Thanks!
