Its possible the Jack Withers is in fact John Withers of 11 Bain Street, Swinton. 16th L/F's 15010, lost his life 27th May 1918. Also enlisted from the same address was his brother in law Samuel Youngman 15179 also of the 16th. Samuel survived the war although was discharged from service 17th August 1917. Another brother in law of Jack Withers was Frederick Greer 10th L/F's 34374, killed 20th may 1917, Frederick was the husband of Beatrice (withers). Will let you know when I find more details of John. His niece is still living and some of the family research being undertaken is jogging her memory a little about the war history of the family.
