We in the Friends of Ignatius Church have been trying preserve the building and at least the contents from water damage, demolishment and being made into flats!! The diocese say we cannot go in because it is dangerous and the developers have shown little interest since the recession. We believe there is a small wooden war memorial still in the church. Maybe a request from your organisation would find a better home for it as it deserves.

Couldn't agree more. Preservation of memorials, rolls of honour, etc. should be a number one priority. I'll help any way I can.

Despite my best efforts, the person we need to speak with regarding this one has become somewhat elusive this week but I never give up so keep watching this space - we will get there in the end
