i have just been informed by a fellow researcher that these registers are now part of the lancashire online parish clerk archives, they have acknowledge SWARM and the manchester and salford family history forum for making them available.
i personally donated these registers many years ago to gary[shred]for the benefit of the hard working members of SWARM,BUT our forum, the manchester regt forum doesnt even get mentioned by the lancashire parish clerk, gary did tell me that he was going to approach the manchester history society to try and get them translated and that was the last i heard, until now
WHY did the manchester and salford history forum get acknowledged, they didnt even exist when i donated these registers, they had no hand in obtaining these registers from me nor were any of them at my home when i handed them over to gary and debbie
the members of the manchester regiment forum work very hard on finding these kind of records and we are always glad to help our pals on SWARM with anything they want, but we aint happy that people who had nothing to do with the deal have taken the credit

The reason The Manchester & Salford family history forum was accredited with the records now shown on the Lancashire online parish clerk, was we had been transcribing them way before they appeared on this forum. This forum only had copies of the absent voters registers. The M&SFHF had transcribed them into searchable PDF's, something this forum hadn't done and we had started this project some years before they appeared on here. We have transcribed a number of the Absent Voters Registers but for Manchester & other areas. Our transcribes can be search by Name/Rank/Regiment/Address/Service number, no others can be. If true accreditation should go anywhere, it would be to what was the old Central library in Manchester where all the registers and 1,000's more original document are held. We also help with transcribing some records for this forum if you care to take that up with Gary aka Shred but never asked or wanted accrediting with them. Ben
