I don't know whether you can help but my Great Uncle Thomas Timms baptised 29.06.1892 at St Clements. 10982 1st Bn Royal Welsh Fusilliers was presumed dead on the 21.10.1914. His name is on the Menin Gate. He entered the theatre of war on the 06.10.14. Just wondered if there were any photographs of him as I haven't got one. His next of kin was my Great Great Uncle Henry Timms of 17 Granville Street Salford. Prior to going to war he was a crane driver at the docks not sure whether it was Manchester or Salford.
He also had a brother John Timms baptised at St Clements Ordsall 07.05.1890 just two years older don't know what happened to him from 1901 when he was living at 75 Melbourne Street Salford with his father and two brothers George 19, and Thomas 8 but he would have been of an age to go to war. I am trying to establish he did go to war and whether he actually survived it.
I also have a photo of a world war 1 soldier not sure of his name but think it might be of John Henry Hoskins born Salford resident Higher Broughton , KOSB 7/8th Battalion ,Died 21/6/17
CWG Mendinghem Military Cemetery
Age 32 son of Tom and Ellen Hoskins of Salford, husband of Mary Ann Hoskins of 93 Grosvenor Rd Higher Broughton. This was in my mothers photo album although she lived in Radcliffe from an early age she was born in Pendleton Salford and her father lived there until his demise in 1926. I seem to recall she said he was called Hoskins. As the photo is of no relevance to my family wondered if there is anyone on this site who recognises him and would like the photo as I so hate throwing it away.
