Now i am not sure if this has been posted on the forum befor or not, but i'm sure the powers that be will let me know if it has and remove my post? I couldn't find it anywhere on the forum. Athol was the brother of the comedy actor Will Hay.
The 1911 census shows Athol living with his parents, William and Lizzie, at 11 Peel Mount, Pendleton. Athol's age is given as 13. Athol attested on the 2nd September 1914 giving his age as 19, he would have been 16. His father's address is shown as 16 Park Avenue, Cheetham Hill, on his service record.
His brother, William Thomson Hay, is shown on the 1911 census as living at 17 Brighton St, Broughton.
