A snippet from the Salford Brigade book: Medal index card shows he was entitled to Victory and British War Medal and no date of entry in "Theatre of War" so arrived in France after the 31st December 1915. Soldiers effects (I think the place of death is Manchester Hospital). The above document also shows that he and Jane had a son Joseph born on the 13/8/14. 1911 census - William Grundy, coal drawer (mine), aged 22. Address - 15 Turners Smithy Brook, Pemberton, Wigan Father - Joseph Mother - Margaret Siblings - Nathan, Mary, Joseph, Alice Ann, Thomas and Enammuuel (Emmanuel?)

Thank you so much. The images from the book are fantastic and the information from the soldiers effects register is fascinating. I will try and get a copy of the book. Try and work out which one is William Grundy. I had been told he died from the effects of Mustard Gas. Thank you again.
