Can anyone identify this man? Private Fred Hayes, Manchester Regiment. Milton Cottage, Milton Place, Pendleton. Died of wounds 30th December 1917.

Hi Garry, I think the newspaper got it wrong - his name was Hoyes
HOYES FRED F 20 Mentioned in Despatches 30/12/1917 Private Manchester Regiment 2nd/6th Bn. Belgium '252001' LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY XXVII. CC. 19A. SON OF FRED AND EDITH HOYES, OF MILTON COTTAGE, MILTON PLACE, PENDLETON, MANCHESTER. NATIVE OF SALFORD, MANCHESTER.
1911 census shows the family residing in Strawberry Road, Pendleton:
