This maybe of interest to any of this chaps family ? His medals & death penny are on sale on Ebay. Pte S,Rice of 2nd/5th Battalion Manchester Regt. Died on 07/04/1917 he was from Swinton. Private Thomas Jones Killed in France on the 6th July 1917 aged 39 Private William Thomas Jones 19319 Lancashire Fusiliers, 10th Bn. Son of Matilda Jones, 8 Friswell Street, Weaste (additional info from pension card).

Sergeant William Henry Chapman, Army Service Corps, died at Military Hospital Grantham on the 8th March 1919 aged 31. William had suffered with epilepsy since the age of 16. he had served two months in France when he suffered a fit and was immediately sent back to England. Serjeant Willian H. Chapman 79971 Machine Gun Corps (Motors), 6th (Reserve) Bty. Husband of Mary Hannah Chapman, of 25 Cambridge Place, Ordsall Lane, Salford (additional info from pension card).

HAROLD TIDESWELL (Flying Corps) Died August 7th 1920 at home through accident in France 2/AM Harold Tideswell 140883 Royal Air Force, son of Charles Joseph and Martha Elizabeth Tideswell, of 8 Cobden Street, Hulme. Previously served with the South Lancs Regiment but was discharged due to VDH on 13 October 1916, later joined the RAF on 5 April 1918. He did not die due to an accident as stated on his headstone, but from tubercular disease of the hip aggravated by military service.
Not on CWGC but case now submitted by In From the Cold Project.
