Hello, I know the last post here was 2011, but i have just found this thread via Google!
I noticed the name Arthur Hetherington....whilst working on my family tree last night i found that one of my ancestors married a 'Hetherington' and they had a son called Arthur, they lived in Clifton aswell, so i think he could be mine!! is there any more info on him?
Thanks, Alison.
EDIT: just found his service records on Ancestry, and he is definatley my man! as his mum is down as Sarah Sharples, she re married when Arthur's dad died.
;D

Hi Alison, Welcome to the forum. I am glad that the forum has helped you find Arthur. His name can be seen in the attached image (second from the top.) This memorial now has a page on our new website here. Arthur died in 1918 so he will not be listed in the Eccles Journal Roll of Honour which covers 1915, 16 & 17 ( see here) I will be attending the Local History Library next Wednesday evening and will see if there was an article published after his death.

Thanks shred, is this memorial, the one that is just past the Golden lion pub in Clifton?
That would be great if you find anything at the library.
Alison.
